Inventing KC 2022: KCIC Informational Session for Educators
July 10,11:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Linda Hall Library’s 2nd annual Kansas City Invention Convention, an affiliate program of The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, opens this fall for students in grades 4 through 12. Students from around the Kansas City metro will be introduced to STEM concepts, entrepreneurship, and more as they are empowered to imagine new solutions to everyday challenges. With the support of teachers and mentors, and one-of-a-kind tips from living inventors and industry experts, students embark on a journey of creativity and growth. Students will present their inventions to judges at the competition in April 2022 and where they will have a chance to win prizes, scholarships and an opportunity to go to nationals.
Samantha Hollingsworth, Program Manager of the Kansas City Invention Convention, and Eric Ward, Vice President for Public Programs, will provide an overview of KCIC and answer your questions about how your students can join and succeed in the competition. If you are an educator or parent interested in KCIC, its invention curriculum, and curious about how to get your students involved, don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about this exciting program.
